Located in Saint-Hilaire-de-la-Noaille in the Gironde, Château de Birazel benefits from an exceptional terroir that produces red and white wines of remarkable quality. Our vines, cultivated with passion, produce emblematic grape varieties.

A New Era at Château de Birazel

With our new range, we wanted to take the expression of our vineyards and terroir a step further, in order to reveal the full harmony that exceptional soils can offer. It consists of a Blanc de Noirs, a new white wine made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as three special cuvées. These cuvées come from the same terroir, where gravel and clay soils create a natural balance.

The sloping plots, facing north and south, ensure optimal drainage and promote deep rooting, while the clay retains just the right amount of water and nutrients. This interplay between rigor and gentleness allows each vine to express precision, depth, and elegance, giving rise to wines that are both powerful and balanced, true to their identity.

BLANC DE NOIRS: The purity of white wine made from Merlot

An ambitious new Blanc de Noirs from Château de Birazel a white wine made from 100% Merlot. This Vin de France expresses the richness of the clay and sandy soils, as well as the château’s expertise, combining the purity and freshness of the fruit with the finesse of the winemaking process. The result is a luminous, airy wine with a graceful finish.

SPECIAL VINES: Three Varieties of Sauvignon Blanc

Three distinctive wines made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, grown on clay and gravel soils.

Diamant Tank (aged on fine lees in an oval-shaped tank), Barrique (new 500-liter barrels), Amphora (clay amphorae for aging in small batches). Each brings out a different facet of the grape variety: balance and fruit, oaky complexity, or essence and body.

WHITE: The elegance of AOC Bordeaux white wine

A blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, made from 15-year-old vines growing on sandy-clay soils with a west-facing slope. Aromas of citrus and white peach. Fresh and flavorful on the palate, with a clean and elegant finish.
